Shaker Heights Prints
Shaker Heights Prints
Part of a new series featuring the numerous small towns and suburbs that make up the whole of the Cleveland area, this print highlights a small (micro in fact) architectural gem in the Shaker Lakes park system between lower Shaker Lake and Coventry Rd. I happened upon this bridge by accident while scouting the nearby waterfall pedestrian bridge for a possible poster. So far I've only heard it was constructed by the Shakers themselves to traverse Doan Brook on their way to the local sawmill. This seems unlikely as it has an obvious Tudor style arch as it's main feature. That would put it's age at sometime in the 1900-1920 range when the whole Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights area was created and seriously hot for Tudor. The mystery of who created this has puzzled me since the moment I found it. If you know it's story send me an email I'd love to hear it. I hope you enjoy the dappled sun through the trees as much as I did on the day I first saw this scene.
