Western Reserve Academy prints
Western Reserve Academy prints
In the early 1800's my town of Hudson, Ohio was home to an up and coming college based on some of the now Ivy League schools back east. In those days the school was called Western Reserve College and for 75 years the school thrived just north of Hudson's downtown green. At the turn of the century the college left the sleepy little town of Hudson for the nearby big-city of Cleveland. At that point an alumnus of the old college, industrialist James Ellsworth endowed and then re-christened the school Western Reserve Academy. Many of the schools original buildings are still in use today along what is known as "Brick-Row" The school continually ranks amongst the highest achieving private prep schools in the country. How do I know all this? Well, I'm proud to say both of my sons graduated underneath the oak and maple trees in this image in front of the Chapel that is the center of life at "Reserve".
